The perfect sports gilet, with a shorter back protector that finishes at the waist so fits neatly under a short jacket.
Lightweight, unobtrusive and as easy as putting on a jacket, the Knox Fastback Gilet is perfect for urban riding, where protection is every bit as important as on the open road.
Featuring a strong sport mesh construction, which is lightweight and breathable, with a Level 2 CE-approved back protector, the Fastback’s design makes it quick and easy to put on/take off – important for busy city riders. Raised channels and vents in the back protector help to keep the wearer cool and avoids the build up of perspiration on clothes.
Engineered to follow the contour of the back and articulate freely, the Fastback Gilet offers freedom of movement and ensures protection is maintained in all positions.

On test for: 18 months I’m a bit of a lazy bugger when it comes to back protectors [writes Superbike magazine's John Hogan]
I’ve tried all manner of them over the years, but only a few have ever hung around long enough in my wardrobe to warrant a full appraisal. This Knox Fastback gilet-style number has been on my back more than any other in the last 18 months, giving me ample time to get used to it. It’s not Knox’s reputation for quality, CE-approved protection that keeps me coming back; it’s more the fact that this is so easy to use. Once you’ve set the strong Velcro adjusters around your waste, it’s simply a matter of slipping it on and zipping it up. There are no straps to get in the way while I’m pulling a one-piece suit over my shoulders and no loose protector riding up (or down) my back while I’m riding. The protective part is fairly small and doesn’t cover my tail-bone, but it’s far better than (for me) the alternative: a T-shirt. Admittedly, its Level-1 CE protection has been superceded now, but it’s comfortable, breathable and, most importantly for me, easy to slip on – for every ride. SUPERBIKE 2012. SuperBike rating: 9/10
"Just the job for those days when you want to wear that poncy designer retro jacket instead of proper protective kit. Stick an updated-for-2009 Knox FastBack gilet underneath and off you go." Performance Bike
