Track Vest, Our Best selling back Protector in a Gilet Style
Trusted and worn by Knox Athletes, Moto GP CRT rider James Ellison and 2012 TT Sidecar Champion Patrick Farrance
The New Knox Track Vest is designed for the active rider across a range of disciplines that require a high level of comfortable, totally unrestricted movement and a high level of protection.
Manufactured in the UK using DuPont Meryl Lycra, the Track Vest is stretchy, light and thin and sits snugly, even under tight racing suits it still allows full articulation. It’s also breathable and moisture-wicking, working with raised channels and vents in the back protector to help keep the wearer cool and prevent perspiration build-up.
Unlike any other garment of this type, the vest can be zipped off the back protector and machine-washed, keeping it fresh and clean throughout the riding season.

A back protector is always a compromise between comfort, ease of use and safety. The new Track Vest from Knox seems to balance all three well with a CE Level 2 approved back protector that is light and flexible, held in a breathable vest. Being used to my Forcefield Pro Sub 4 protector, which is very protective but also very thick and bulky, the Knox Track Vest feels like I’ve forgotten to put one on. It’s really light and thanks to the articulation of the plates you can move your upper body around without any restriction. It’s also far more comfortable than the Forcefield as the back protector has soft raised spines on the inside to keep it off your back, which also helps prevent the build up of sweat”. RiDE Nov 12 - Matt Hull - – Track Vest
“I really like the fit of the vest, it makes getting in and out of leathers a lot easier than a standard back protector and when I wear it under my textile suit you would barely notice it’s on! A cracking piece of kit and one of the first things to be packed when I am going testing!” Road Racing Ireland – Sept 12
The party trick is, of course, the super comprehensive back protector, which grips the back perfectly, taking its shape, and providing support wherever needed intuitively. It’s absolutely comfortable for an hour-long ride in crazy city traffic and even more so on a long haul. The Knox back protector is available sans the vest too, and is cheaper therefore (` 10,500) and you must definitely get one if your back isn’t in a sound state owing to a clumsy motorcycling past. Also if this is anything to go b(u)y, I even went to the movies with the thing strapped on, although my friends thought I was an absolute weirdo. The Track Vest's the best piece of kit I've ever owned, being as it zips up and the back protector hugs your spine really well. John Burrows, leading national road racer.
